Xgl, compiz unter SuSE 10.1

Hi.

Irgendwie bekomme ich Xgl nicht 'richtig' zum laufen. Xgl und compiz scheinen zwar zu laufen (wabbelnde Fenster ;)), aber irgendwie auch nicht richtig.

Ich versuche schon seid einiger Zeit vergebens cedega zum laufen zu bringen (gekaufte rpm Version),
der liefert mir allerdings bei seinen "System Tests" dass "OpenGL Direct Rendering" und "3D Acceleration" nicht laufen würden.

Desktop Effects (gnome-xgl-settings) meint allerdings, dass "3D Acceleration" und "3D Desktop" aktiv sind. Zu meiner GeForce 2 MX 400 meint Desktop Effects "Xgl is enabled, but might not perform well with this card."...

glxinfo sagt "direct rendering: No", glxgear liefert mir fps welche etwas über 500 liegen (wohl auch etwas zu wenig für ein richtig laufendes 'xgl').


Handelt es sich hierbei um ein Konfigurationsproblem? Oder ist meine GeForce 2 MX wirklich 'inkompartibel'?


Ich bitte um Hilfe! Ich bekomme cedega nun schon seid einer Woche nicht zum laufen und bereue allmählich die kaufentscheidung ;)

Ich verwende übrigens SuSE 10.1, KDE 5.3.1 und Cedega 5.2.2.

Inkompatibel ist nicht der richtige Ausdruck. Aber mit deiner Grafikkarte solltest du auf Xgl verzichten. Sie ist einfach nicht ausreichend.
 
Japp, die Jungs vom Projekt haben mir auf dem Linuxtag etwas von einer Geforce FX 5200 als Minimum erzählt. Es wundert mich, dass mit der Geforce2 überhaupt etwas gegangen ist.

Weiterhin sieht es mir so aus, als wären die Treiber für die Karte nicht korrekt installiert oder die Einträge in der xorg.conf stimmen nicht richtig.
 
Eine neue Karte ist erst ab nächstem Monat in Sicht.

Die Treiber (.run) habe ich von nvidia geladen, und mit sh treiber.run -q installiert.

Meine xorg.conf ist (eigentlich) richtig konfiguriert.

Oh man,

das heißt wohl warten. Bzw. doch wieder auf Windows zurück greifen... :(
 
die kombination xgl + opengl spiele hat auf meiner geforce4 auch ständig probleme gemacht ... keine ahnung warum.
