Laptopbatterie nicht erkannt

Hi,
hab testweise mal ein Vista business-edition auf meinem Laptop installiert, aber weder Vista selbst noch Notebook hardware Control erkennen das eine batterie vorhanden ist.

Der Bildschirm wird weiterhin automatisch abgedunkelt, linux erkennt die batterie brav...

irgendjemand eine idee?

Was ist das für ein Laptop?

Vista unterstützt das Smart Battery Subsystem nicht mehr. XP und Linux dagegen schon.
Das Problem müsste sich mit einem neuen ACPI Treiber lösen lassen.
Hast du schon auf der Herstellerseite nachgeschaut ob es dort passende Vista Treiber gibt?

mh, das wird's sein,

ein acer travelmate 4001 ist es, schon was älter (2 jahre ca.) bei acer gibts für das notebook keine vista treiber...
wo könnte ich sonst entsprechende acpi treiber herbekommen?

Du könntest versuchen mal das Acer Empowering Framework von ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/utilities/VistaET/ zu installieren.

Ansonsten sieht das schlecht aus denke ich, wenn Acer nicht bereit ist für das Modell weitere Updates bereitzustellen.

However for Vista to recognise the battery a bios change is required by the vendor, which then becomes hard. I have the ACPI Power team looking at this and will chase them again, but ultimately if a vendor will not make the changes to enable the battery to report itself in a standard way, there is little we can do at Microsoft.
Windows XP supported multiple power schemes, such as APM and non-conformist ACPIs that were a hybrid of the two. Vista only supports ACPI. It is not just a driver that would be required, but a complete, now retired, subsystem from Vista. Given the focus on power management and integration in Vista this is not just a "put a couple of binaries back",

Ich habe gehört das evtl. das Vista Service Pack 1 dieses Problem angehen soll. Im Whitepaper stehen dazu bisher allerdings keine konkreten Infos.

jop hab mich eben auch mal ne weile da durchgewuselt, sieht momentan echt schlecht aus, allerdings gibt es einen DSDT-Fix... wenn das jemand in ein Bios-flash wandeln könnte hätte sich das thema...
