Wlan unter Ubuntu 7.10

Bin hier langsam am verzweifeln, habe hier einen Laptop von MSI und will den ins W-Lan bringen, ist soweit auch kein Problem solange keine Verschlüsselung ins spiel kommt, sobald ich die aktiviere schaffe ich es einfach nicht mehr Ubuntu dazu zu bringen trotzdem dort reinzugehen.

Habe einen MSI Megabook M16P71 Laptop mit einer Ralink 2561 Chipsatz, installiert ist darauf XP und Ubuntu 7.10 (Ob Feisty oder sonstwas kann ich leider nicht genau sagen) Habe mich schon mit mehreren Versuchen rumgeplagt das hinzubekommen aber leider nicht von erfolg gekrönt

Habe es schon mit wifi-radar dem network-manager und wicd probiert, hat alles nicht richtig funktioniert, mit ndiswrapper habe ich es bisher noch net getestet weil ich dafür nicht die passende .inf datei finde

Habe im Networkmanager die möglichkeit ein Netzwerk von Hand einzurichten dort ist WPA und WPA2 auch auswählbar was aber leider nichts bringt.

Wenn ich mit wicd versuche mich in das Netzwerk zu connecten dann bekommt er soweit ich das erkennen kann keine ip zugewiesen.

Der Router ist eine Fritz!Box 7170

Key : xxx (habe es mehrfach überprüft der ist definitiv der richtige gebe ich aus ersichtlichen gründen hier nicht richtig wie er ist)

Bin wie gesagt langsam am ende und bin gefrustet. Ansonsten ist Linux ja supper, aber was bringt mir Linux wenn ich nur Windows anhab weil ich mein I-Net brauch?

Wäre für jeden Lösungsvorschlag dankbar, habe inzwischen so viele anleitungen durch das ich euch leider nicht mehr genau sagen kann was ich schon alles habe und was noch nicht.

Hast du es mal mit http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/WLAN/wpa_supplicant (dem "händischen" Weg) versucht? Ich vermisse nämlich die WPA-Eintragungen in der interfaces-Datei.

Ne habe ich unter der Distri nicht versucht (hatte vorhher debian aber da wurde noch nichtmal meine karte erkann), habe ich ganz vergessen. werde ich testen sobald ich kann (momemtan arbeiter xp ganz fleißig an nem programm) melde mich dann sobald ich was dazu sagen kann. Bin für andere vorschläge trotzdem offen.

edit1: so, habe mir das ganze mal angeschaut und bin kläglich gescheitert, mal wieder.

Hier so die wichtigsten ausgaben wie ich finde.

Nach der Installation und einrichtung soll ich ja die wpa_supplicant.conf anpassen, so schaut die dann bei mir aus:

Du musst den wpa_supplicant schon als root starten. Einfach mal ein 'sudo ' davor setzen.

Wenn etwas nicht automatisch erkannt wird, sollte man einfach die passenden Kernel-Module installieren...
also ich hatte mit RaLink unter Debian noch keine Probleme.

Zum WLAN-Connecten hab ich ein kleines Script geschrieben, was nacheinander SSID, Wlan-Verschlüsselung, etc. einstellt (geht sogar ohne wpa_supplicant - nur mit ifconfig, iwconfig und iwpriv)
Da ich gerade aufm Sprung an die FH bin und mein Laptop schon im Rucksack, poste ich das nachher mal, wenn ich wieder da bin...

Vielleicht solltest du einfach mal die Fehlermeldungen auch lesen.

sry das hatte ich nicht gesehen, denke nicht bei jedem versuch daran, ich probiere ja nebenbei auch noch.

Habe die Datei gelöscht und das selbe nochmal gestart dann kommt sowas bei raus:

Die Meldung die du bekommst, tritt normalerweise dann auf, wenn ein Treiber bestimmte IOCTLs nicht unterstützt. Allerdings sind das normalerweise nur Warnungen und iwconfig zeigt deine WLAN-Karte ja auch korrekt an. Wie sieht deine interfaces-Datei mittlerweile aus? Hast du dort mittlerweile die für das WLAN notwendigen Daten eingetragen? Evtl. auch mal mit einer festen IP (also ohne DHCP) versuchen um rauszubekommen ob du überhaupt eine Verbindung bekommst.

momentan sieht die interfaces datei wie folgt aus:

iface wlan0 inet dhcp
  wpa.conf /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf

Wenn ich die Box auf WEP zurückfahre und mit dem Netzwerk tool mein Ubuntu konfiguriere bekomme ich eine IP, komme allerdings nicht ins Internet.
Irgendwo hackt es gewaltig, werde wohl nochmal alles von vorne durchgehen bis ich es doch hinbekomme

edit: Kollege hat mir jetzt den network-manager-gnome installiert und damit funktioniert es auf einmal einwandfrei oO warum versteh ich nicht, aber ich bin allemal glücklich, danke nochmal bitmuncher für deine hilfe
