absturz bei installation

hallo, mir ist die kiste beim installieren von linux 7.10 abgestürzt. der download war noch komplett, aber gelich zu beginn der installation der neuen pakete wars rum (der balken war noch auf 0%).
wenn ich jetzt irgendetwas öffnen will, das mit dem system zu tun hat, komm ich gar nicht rein und krieg fehlermeldungen bzw. kann auch die vorgeschlagene lösung nicht vollenden.
den adept manager z.B. soll ich im terminal öffnen, was aber nicht geht, woraufhin ich dpkg starten soll.

Die APT-Datenbank lässt sich nicht öffnen. Dies kann durch eine unsaubere APT-Einrichtung oder einem ähnlichen Problem verursacht worden sein. Starten Sie apt-setup und apt-get update in einem Terminal und kontrollieren Sie dann, ob dies das Problem gelöst hat.

dann kommt:

dpkg: Fehler beim Parsen, in Datei ?/var/lib/dpkg/status? nahe Zeile 39261 Paket ?libc6?: ?triggers-pendi? ist nicht erlaubt für drittes (Status-)Wort im Feld ?status?

ich muß ja irgendwo anfangen, hab aber nicht den schimmer wo.

wie wärs wenn du einfach mal neu installierst?

mein problem ist eben, das ich das nicht hinkriege. ich würde das eben über apt bzw. die systemaktualisierung machen. bei zweiterer kommt dann:

Paketinformationen konnten nicht initialisiert werden Beim Initialisieren der Paketinformationen trat ein Problem auf, das nicht behoben werden konnte. Bitte erstellen Sie einen Fehlerbericht für das Paket ?update-manager? und fügen Sie dort folgende Fehlernachricht hinzu: 'E : Dynamic MMap ran out of room, E : Ein Fehler trat beim Bearbeiten von mutt auf (NewVersion1), E : Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_feisty_main_binary-i386_Packages, E : Die Paketliste oder die Statusdatei konnte nicht geparst oder geöffnet werden.'

und unten in der leiste steht im moment ein paket, das ich installieren kann, und nicht die über 100, die damals eben nicht installiert wurden. ich denke, mein linux meint irgendwie, schon bei version 7.10 zu sein, wo es aber nicht ist. gibt es einen weg, zu installieren, der die obigen probleme umgeht?

Vermutlich musst du deinen Apt-Cache vergrössern - wie das geht, kannst du unter http://debiananwenderhandbuch.de/apt.conf.html nachlesen - dann 'apt-get clean' ausführen, gefolgt von einem 'apt-get update'.

Glaub er meint Ubuntu 7.10.

Da hatte ein Kollege von mir auch Probleme gehabt von 7.04 auf 7.10 upzudaten und musste es komplett neu aufsetzen.

Bei manchen funktioniert es tadellos, bei anderen wiederum macht es mehr kaputt. Und per Live-CD starten und installieren ??

Mir ist Ubunt uauch mal bei der Neuinstallation abgeschissen (7.04), würds auch neu isntallieren.

Geht wahrscheinlcih schneller als wenndes irgendiwe adners versucht =)

wo wir grad bei dem Thema sind: bleiben die Daten, installierten Programme, etc erhalten oder ist das wie ein Neuaufsetzen bei Windows, sprich alles weg?

hab den cache erhöht, kommt auch die entsprechende fehlermeldung nicht mehr, aber bei apt-get update kommt immer noch

Zuerstmal ein einfaches 'apt-get clean && apt-get update' versuchen. Wenn auch das nicht hilft, sichere mal die status-Datei

cp /var/lib/dpkg/status /var/lib/dpkg/status.old

öffne die Datei (als root) in einem Editor (nano /var/lib/dpkg/status) und entferne den Abschnitt, der mit 'Package: libc6' beginnt. Danach zweimal(!) 'apt-get update' ausführen und ein 'apt-get -f install' machen.

die 404-fehlermeldung liegt wohl am fehlenden zugriff aufs internet, aber wieder diese dpkg-geschichte, keine ahnung!

Der 404-Fehler liegt momentan am deutschen Server. Nimm mal den Hauptserver von Ubuntu. Hatte das Problem heute nämlich auch. Am einfachsten stellst du mit 'sudo adept_installer' um. Dort klickst du auf "Edit Software Source" und wählst unten den Hauptserver aus.

wo wir grad bei dem Thema sind: bleiben die Daten, installierten Programme, etc erhalten oder ist das wie ein Neuaufsetzen bei Windows, sprich alles weg?

wenn du eine extra /home/-partition eingerichtet hast und die bei der neuinstallation wieder als /home einbindest, dann bleiben deine daten(nicht die installierten programme) erhalten.
