Neuigkeiten im Office-Bereich: Nextcloud und IONOS bringen am 9. Juni die erste stabile Version von Euro-Office

Euro-Office wird nun ab dem 9. Juni ins Rennen gehen: die europäische Alternative zu Office - sie steht gewissermaßen in den Startlöchern.
Neues aus dem Euro-Office-Projekt: seit geraumer Zeit besteht eine wachsende Nachfrage nach souveränen Arbeitsplatzlösungen - zahlreiche Moves hin zu Open-Source haben für Schlagzeilen gesorgt. Es gibt Projekte in Dänemark, Schleswig Holstein, neuerdings auch in München oder beim Österreichishen Verteidigungsministerium - u.v.a.m. Überall will man weg von proprietären Lösungen. Nun gehts weiter: Nextcloud und IONOS bringen am 9. Juni die erste stabile Version von Euro-Office – einer eigenständigen, europäischen Office-Suite. Sie ist dann auf GitHub verfügbar und wird in Nextcloud Hub 26 (Spring) integriert (als Alternative zu Collabora). IONOS-Kunden können sie installieren, ab Sommer folgt die Integration in Nextcloud Workspace.

Ein Überblick: Das Gemeinschaftsprojekt - eine Koalition aus vielen (mittlerweile 10) Partnern - welche von Ionos und Nextcloud angeleitet werden kommt voran: Euro-Office: die turbulenten Entwicklungen der Office-Alternative zum MS-Office: weitere Beteiligte, das Tempo zieht an: Euro-Office ist ein Fork von OnlyOffice, initiiert von einem europäischen Konsortium unter Führung von IONOS und Nextcloud. Die erste stabile Version wird im Sommer 2026 erwartet, eine technische Vorschau ist bereits auf GitHub verfügbar.


Wer ist alles dabei? (Die wachsende Koalition)

Neu hinzugekommen sind nun zwei weitere: Open-Xchange (OX) – bekannt für E-Mail/Kalender, u.a. Baustein von openDesk

Euro-Office provides a truly open, transparent, and sovereign solution for collaborative document editing.
