Hallo Leute,
ich habe ein Porblem mit meinem Palm Zire 71. Und zwar geht es darum, dass Kpilot aber auch Evolution während des Hotsync Vorgangs ständig abstürzen. Die Dockingstation ist über die serielle Schnittstelle mit dem PC verbunden. Als Device steht /dev/ttys0 drin und er beginnt auch mit dem Hotsync. Aber plötzlich hängt sich das Programm auf und gibt bei Kpilot folgenden Fehler: .. ist abgestürzt und hat das Signal 11 (SIGSEGV) veranlasst. Auch unter Evolution komme ich nicht weiter. Ich habe bereits verschiedene Geschwindigkeiten ausprobiert und auch im Palm bei Flusskontrolle alles versucht. Trotzdem komme ich da nicht weiter. Vielleicht hatte ja schon einer von euch das Problem mit Palm und Linux, oder davon gehört. Ich wäre für eine Antwort echt dankbar.

Hatte es denn überhaupt schonmal gefunzt? Kannst du das evtl. mal unter Win mit dem Palm Desktop testen?
 
Palm-Sync ist sone Sache.
Erstmal: Das Gerät /dev/ttys0 existiert? Wenn du das Gerät einsteckst, und dann dmesg ausführst, wird es erkannt? Wenn nicht, ist der entsprechende Treiber geladen? (ich glaube der heißt visor).

Dann versuche das ganze doch mal in (genau) dieser Reihenfolge:

1) Gerät einstecken
2) Sicherstellen, dass /dev/ttys0 existiert
3) Hotsync-Knopf _am Gerät_ drücken
4) Jetzt erst Kpilot starten

Ich habe einen Rechner, bei dem das nur in dieser Reihenfolge funktioniert. Ausschließlich. Allerdings mit einem TX.
 
/dev/ttys0 exestiert. Wenn ich bei kpilot den Benutzernamen automatisch ermitteln lasse, beginnnt er da den Datenaustausch und bei etwa 10% bricht er ab und die Fehlermeldung mit dem Signal 11 erscheint.
 
Benutzt du eine aktuelle Version von KPilot? SVN oder sowas? Wenn nicht probier das mal aus. SIGSEGV ist ja ein Speicherzugriffsfehler, das riecht quasi nach Bug.
 
Ja, ist überall die aktuelle Version. Einen Bug vermute ich mal nicht, da das Problem auch bei Evolution mit Gnome-Pilot auftritt. Gnome-Pilot gibt folgenden Fehler aus, mir sagt er nichts, hoffentlich euch:
