The Lubricants Supply Chain (LSC) organisation plays a key role in producing our entire portfolio of lubricants and getting them to our customers. It drives cost competitive and reliable supply for our broad customer range and is key in reducing our own environmental footprint. For example, integrating re-refined Base Oils (RRBO) into our products, introduction of a range of biodegradable lubricants and improving our packaging.

What’s the role?

Grasbrook Lubricants Centre in Hamburg (GLC) is one of the biggest lubricant production sites within Shell and the biggest site within the European network. As the Site IT Coordinator, you will be responsible to drive IT related projects and help the production facility to thrive on the automation and digitalisation journey.

You’ll be responsible to act as the site focal point for IT security and ensure, that systems and processes comply with our standards.

For our IT infrastructure you will act as the focal point to different local, global and external organisations and streamline different needs and priorities. You ensure, that our infrastructure is properly maintained and upgraded where needed.

You will manage the contract for our automation system (PCS System) and collaborate with the on-site team in managing the scope.

You will be responsible for implementing our site automation strategy and aligning initiatives with wider priorities.

For new investments in our facility, you’ll represent the local IT requirements to ensure that new equipment can be integrated into our IT landscape.

What we need from you

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical or IT
  • Expert in managing complex IT Systems such as Hardware, Software and Networks
  • Skilled in managing IT Security requirements
  • Proven project management experience with managing a diverse set of stakeholders across the globe
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and previous application of the automation pyramid as per ISA95 is advantageous
  • Fluent German language and solid English language skills. Role is located in Hamburg, Germany
