Ubuntu bootet nicht, knoppix aber schon

hallo. nach diversen foren probiere ich jetzt mein glück auch hier:

also mein laptop hat ubuntu installiert und hat eigentlich auch immer mehr oder weniger funktioniert, aber plötzlich war er nicht mehr zum starten zu bewegen.

kurz gesagt ist das problem, dass der kernel beim starten "einfriert", das witzige ist aber, knoppix startet.

hat jemand eine idee, was ich probieren könnte?

oder wie ich es am besten anstelle knoppix so weit reinzumogeln, dass meine installierten programme draufbleiben...
 
hast du in der letzten zeit irgendwelche updates gemacht?
und hast dir darüber vielleicht eine neue kernel verison gezogen die mit einem gerät nicht mehr klar kommt?
 
nö. nix. ubuntu-live-cd bootet auch nicht, dsl bootet auch nicht. alle möglichen bootparameter helfen auch nichts. er bleibt immer in der gleichen zeile hängen...

ich vermute, dass es ein hardwareproblem mit der netzwerkbuchse ist, aber da herumzubasteln fehlt mir irgendwie das wissen... speziell das wissen, wo anfangen zu suchen und zu lernen...
 
du hast warscheinlich nicht so unrecht, es könnte wirklich an der hardware liegen, wie siehts aus mit garantie?

ansonsten mal die on Board LAN NIC ausschalten und dann versuchen ...
 
also garantie ist nichts... wurde erstens gebraucht gekauft und zweitens vor über zwei jahren :-))

onboard LAN abschalten habe ich schon probiert, aber das scheint sehr tief verwurzelt zu sein und lässt sich nicht machen (vielleicht war ich auch nur zu blöd und es gibt irgendwo einen versteckten schalter, der impliziert, dass LAN aus ist)

wie änder ich den Interrupt Modus?
 
ich grabe jetzt mal meinen alten thread aus, weil ich gerade wieder einmal lust hatte bisschen zu basteln.

ubuntu nutzt 2.6er kernel, sollte ich einen 2.4er verwenden?

Ich wuerde versuchen sie im BIOS zu deaktivieren und dann ueber ne PCMCIA-Karte zu arbeiten(gibt meines wissens welche mit WLAN und Ethernet zusammen, so dass das umstecken entfaellt).

Desweiteren kannst du nicht einfach nen Knoppix Kernel nehmen und unter Ubuntu einsetzen. Fuer den SEHR unwarscheinlichen Fall, dass der funktionieren wuerde, wuerde warscheinlich ubuntu sofort per Update seinen wieder drueber spielen.
Man kann ja auch bei einem Auto nich sofort Motor A gegen Motor B tauschen.

Das einzige was du versuchen kannst ist dein /home Verzeichnis und deine Config Dateien zu sichern und das dann zurueck zu spielen sobald du Knoppix installiert hast.

desweiteren: was sagt denn lspci -vv ?
 
im bios lässt sich wenig bis gar nichts deaktivieren :-)
