Xubuntu 6.06 bleibt schwarz...

Hallo,

ich habe mir kürzlich Xubuntu alternate heruntergeladen, zuvor erstellte Partitionen mit RaiserFS formatiert und installiert (10 gb root, 100 mb boot, 1 gb swap, 10 gb home). nach dem Startvorgang kann ich zwischen Xubuntu, Xubuntu recovery, Memtest und WinXP selektieren; wenn ich ersteres nehme, kommt das Bild mit der Ratte im Rad (wohl das Xubuntu-Logo) und dann wird nach und nach was geschrieben und -> ok. das letzte ist "(...) kernel log", danach wechselt es sofort in einen schwarten Bildschirm; auch nach einigen Minuten ändert sich nichts. die Konsole startet; gebe ich "init 2" ein, wechselt er wieder ins 'Nichts'.

can anyone help me, please?

hmm hört sich nach einem Graka problem an... oder wenn´s ein Laptop ist, ist evtl ein Signal am ext Grafikport ?

Ein normaler Rechner. aber Linux hat doch jede Menge mitgelieferter Treiber; habe eine Radeon 9600 XT; unter WinXP funktioniert sie auch prima; Knoppix lädt ebenso.

Danke, habe RFSGUI heruntergeladen. es lässt mich drive 0, partition 12 und drive 0, partition 20 auswählen. /boot ist leer... o.ô

wo sollen sich angegebene Dateien befinden?

such nach lilo.conf in /etc/
und die menu.list in /boot/
je nach dem welchen bootloader du verwendest.

Ich glaube, der Bootloader heisst Grub 0.9. /boot ist ja leer... obwohl ich meine, unter Knoppix was auf der Partition gesehen zu haben. Lilo existiert nicht.

beachte das /boot (wie du oben angegeben hast) auf dem / und/oder in der Bootpartition sein können....

Dort werden lediglich zwei Partitionen angezeigt. zum Einen, die mit rund fünfzehn Elementen und noch eine, wo nur reiserfs_priv und mein Anmeldename steht.

Habe jetzt ein wenig gegooglet zum Thema XServer und verstehe so viel wie vorher

XServer hat nichts mit einem Webserver zu tun, oder?
Es hat wohl was mit einer GUI zu tun... Xubuntu hat doch Xfce, was macht dann XServer?

(ich scheine es zu brauchen...) wie installiere ich es?

XServer ist das grafische System.
Dürfte standartmäßig dabei sein bei Xubuntu

was ist der Untschied zw. KDE/GNOME/Kfce und XServer?

Die oberflächen. Gnome/KDE/XFCE zb.

Im XServer stellt man die Einstellungen ein für die Darstellung. Auflösung, Wiederholrate ( Hz ) und vieles mehr. Hat also nix mit Webserver zu tun..

In dieser Datei sind die Einstellungen gespeichert aber es gibt dafür auch eine GUI ( Grafische darstellung )

sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

Mit diesem Befehlen ( in der Console ) kann man XServer einrichten.
Als Treiber solltest du Vesa benutzen und dann wenn Linux läuft den richitgen Treiber installieren.

hm? Sagst du auch was dazu? ati müsste zb. Vesa sein aber würds halt alles per Xserver gui machen..
