Knoppix Fn+F1

Hallo habe heute die DVD Knoppix 6.3 geschenkt bekommen soweit alles gut.
Wenn ich nun die Tasten Fn+F1 für das Wlan anstellen will nimmt er dieses aber nicht an.

Netzwerkkarte gefunden und die Wlankarte auch gefunden, sollte es nun an den Treibern liegen, nur welchen brauche ich und woher bekomme ich einen?

Könntest du bitte mal nach dem Anschalten des WLAN ein Terminal öffnen und dort "dmesg" eingeben? Die letzten 20 oder 30 Zeilen davon kannst du dann hier pasten, eventuell fehlt ja einfach nur die Firmware.

Hallo, wenn ich nun ifconfig ausführe erscheint mir das:

Geht aber noch immer nicht das Wlan. :(

auch was gefunden werden. und wenn er da was findet, dann sollte er auch im wicd (wird doch glaube ich auf den aktuellen Knoppix-CDs als Netzwerk-Manager verwendet, oder?) was finden - und dort kannst du bei dem entsprechenden WLAN auf "Eigenschaften" und kannst deine Verschlüsselung und entsprechenden Key einstellen und dann auf "verbinden" klicken.
(das kannst du zwar auch über die Konsole mit wpa_supplicant machen, aber da du ja anscheinend nicht so mit der Konsole vertraut bist, will ich dir das mal nicht antun ;) )

Hallo,

Knoppix ist(/war?) eher als Rettungsmedium ausgelegt und bietet darum auch nicht für alle Funktionen integrierte Unterstützung. Je nach Laptopmodell kann man aber Pakete nachinstallieren, welche die Tasten nutzbar machen.

Falls du Linux Einsteiger bist, würd ich dir eher Ubuntu empfehlen. Im Ubuntu-Wiki[1] findest du auch Anleitungen für (fast) alles.

(Bevor jetzt hier ein Glaubenskrieg ausbricht: Ja es gibt sicherlich auch noch andere Distributionen die sich für einen Einsteiger eignen. Aber mein Tipp ist halt nunmal Ubuntu :-))
