openSUSE 11.1: xorg.conf-Probleme

Hallo werte Linux-Gemeinde!

Ich habe folgendes Problem mit meiner xorg.conf: Der neuste fglrx-Treiber für meine ATI X700 Mobility ist installiert (9.1), nur leider startet er beim Hochfahren nicht im grafischen System. Es sieht danach aus, als schmiere der X-Server ab. Ich muss mich dann immer als root einloggen, dann "rcxdm restart" manuell machen, damit ich mich als normaler User anmelden kann.

BusID korrekt setzen und die ganzen unnötigen Options rausnehmen. AIGLX rausnehmen, wenn du es nicht unbedingt brauchst.

Wirklich alle Options rausnehmen, die er hier anprangert?

AIGLX, naja, Desktop-Effekte mit der Karte haben noch nie richtig funktioniert. Also einfach AIGLX deaktivieren oder wie?

die busid lässt sich über lspci aus dem paket pciutils herausfinden. eventuell müssen einige nullen entfernt werden, einfach ein wenig rumprobieren.

beispiel:

lspci | grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07)

in die xorg.conf kommt nun 0:2:0... normalerweise

Nimm mal die BusID komplett raus (einfach auskommentieren), dann verwendet er die Device-Sektion für alle gefundenen Grafikkarten. Wenn du AIGLX nicht brauchst, dann solltest du es auch nicht anmachen. Das verursacht vermutlich die ganzen Aufrufe an nicht unterstützte Grafikfunktionen.
